Rev3 Quassy Half-Rev Triathlon Middlebury, Conn. 2010
Men’s Race
Matt Reed and Terrenzo Bozzone were the first out of the water. Alexander, just moments back, surged to an early lead on the bike, but was overtaken by Bjorn Andersson, who maintained the lead and was the first male into T2. As a chase pack of 3, Alexander, Reed and Bozzone soon overtook Andersson, with Reed and Bozzone surging to the front and running shoulder to shoulder for the first half of the run. By Mile 9, Bozzone had made his move to open a small gap with Reed, but Alexander kicked into high gear and blew by both men to dominate the run until the finish.
Women’s Race
The trio of Julie Dibens, Joanna Zeiger and Mary Beth Ellis were the first into T1. Dibens, racing on the Trek/K-Swiss team quickly took command of the bike, forging a comfortable lead that she maintained through the bike leg. But Dibens would pay on the run for her aggressive bike split. One of the women’s race favorites, Dibens was forced to walk parts of the run as Carfrae, the strongest runner in the women’s field, quickly reeled her in. Dibens would still finish fourth.
