Kienle and Van Vlerken take Ironman 70.3 Germany
Sebastian Kienle and Yvonne van Vlerken win the third Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Ironman 70.3 Germany in Wiesbaden
Sunday, August 16, 2009
Quotes from the raceYvonne van Vlerken: “I’m happy and satisfied, looking at a new course record. But I lost some time on the downhills to Boman. I’ll race next week a short distance in Austria, just before heading out for the Kona preparation at Lake Tahoe.“
Sebastian Kienle: “I knew before the race, looking at my results with just wins, that I’m a pre-race favorite. I’ve selected the races I like and that suit me, but I knew there are four or five guys that couls win this race. During the bike I was a while nervous, because I didn’t made any time on the hard pushing leaders. I’ve built my strength on the run, which was good. My biggest concern waw on Michael [Raelert], he is able to run me down in an Olympic triathlon. We’ll have the chance for a rematch a few more times this year, including Clearwater.”
