Filip Ospaly & Yvonne Van Vlerke smash the course records at 2010 Ironman 70.3 Austria

  It was an all European top position of the podium at the 2010 Ironman 70.3 in St. Pölten, Austria as European triathletes smashed both the men's and women's course records.
Czech triathlete Filip Ospaly (who certainly wasn't "ospaly" which means drowsy in Czech) overcame defending Aussie champion Chris McCormack on the run and set a new course record of 3:46:02.
Both triathletes hammered the run with Ospaly crossing the finish line only about a minute ahead of Mecca.
"Great race in Austria. These ITU boys are fast on the run. I had an awesome run, 69 minutes, felt strong, but he kicked past me to win. Hard," Chris McCormack tweeted after the race.
On the women's side of the race it was Dutch triathlete Yvonne Van Vlerken who set a course record, and won the race by just a tiny sliver of time over Hungarian Erika Csomor.
It would be hard to image a tighter finish as only 0.2 seconds separated the two women as they lunged across the finish line of the race.
