You would think that design or technology would determine a bike's value, and if you thought that you'd unfortunately be wrong.

It turns out that many of the the world's most expensive bikes are not about the go fast innovations and materials that makes today's modern bikes such marvels of technology.

No, they are more about the old school stuff that makes everything expensive like gold and diamonds.

Take for example this bike (the number one most expensive bike on the list):
