Vanessa Fernandes unplugged

...mais uma espécie de homenagem a uma das melhores "atletas" do mundo do Triatlo...
...que tenhas força para nos dar mais alegrias por muitos e bons anos...
... Obrigado Nessa...

Vanessa Fernandes Unplugged (September 26, 2008 )
This past weekend Portugal’s triathlon star Vanessa Fernandes
defended her ITU Duathlon World Championship in Rimini, Italy.
The day before the race she spoke with ITU and opened up about
how her life has changed since the Beijing Olympics and her rise
to super stardom in Portugal. She also gives her thoughts on the men’s Olympic race,
why she chose to race Duathlon world championships instead
of the Lorient world cup and what she’ll do in the off-season.

Last month Fernandes won the silver medal at the Beijing Olympic Games,
extending her already long list of career achievements. Is she the most
accomplished ITU athlete ever? Well, numbers don’t lie. Consider the facts:
- 20 world cup titles (all-time ITU record)
- world cup winning percentage of 62.5%
- 24 world cup medals
- world cup podium percentage of 75%
- only one world cup DNF (Hamburg 2008)
- 9 European triathlon championships (5 elite, 3 under23, 1 junior)
- 2007 triathlon world champion
- 2007 duathlon world champion
- 2006 & 2007 world cup series champion
- 2004 Olympian at 18 years old (8th place)
- 2008 Olympic silver medallist
